Our Vision

Vision Healing Arts Centre

Vision Healing Arts Centre is the manifestation of Yosi Gal and Michelle Leavy who have spent almost 2 decades training, working, and dreaming of building a refuge in nature; a safe place where we can wake up with the sun to the sound of the birds, knowing that our land is protected, our water is clean, and our food is nourishing. A place where people can gather to connect with and heal every aspect of our beings. We believe in a holistic approach to life that promotes good physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.

Founded in 2018, Vision Healing Arts Centre intention is to provide a healthy, positive, and fulfilling environment for all. Throughout the seasons, we will offer daily classes plus many specialized workshops and retreats featuring local and international teachers, friends, and family to share their knowledge of healing arts, ceremonies, permaculture, and food foraging with our community.

Who We Are
Michelle

Michelle Leavy

Michelle is an avid world traveler, student and teacher of healing arts. Her journey in to the world of healing arts started in 2001. At the age of 24, facing major spinal surgery for scoliosis, she found yoga and her life changed. With a consistent yoga and meditation practice, she began to understand the connection between the body, the mind, and the spirit. The once debilitating pain in her body was released and surgery avoided. From this experience, she realized the importance and interconnection between our energetic and physical bodies and wanted to share this understanding with others.

Since 2004, Michelle has been teaching classical hatha yoga and meditation in her home town of Toronto, Canada and at various yoga retreats around the world. She is a certified hatha yoga and prenatal yoga teacher. Michelle has also spent the last several years studying and practicing various modes of healing arts and bodywork in India, Nepal, Thailand and Canada including: Thai yoga massage, Thai abdominal massage, Dynamic Thai massage, Tunia massage, reflexology, Ayurveda theories and therapies, TokeSen, and Tibetan Singing Bowl and Sound Healing Therapies.

Michelle is Vision Healing Arts Centre's resident yoga, meditation and healing arts therapist. She approaches every yoga class and therapeutic session individually, flowing from her understandings and intuition to create unique, healing experiences.

Yosi Gal

Born in Jerusalem, Yosi grew up with a strong sense of spirituality and the importance of community. He spent many years traveling the globe and now considers himself a citizen of the world.

Yosi loves all things that grow. Since his childhood, he dreamed of owning a farm where he could grow his own food and have plenty of space for his creativity and imagination to flourish. Passionate about Permaculture, Yosi completed his Permaculture design certification in 2015. His vision is to create a productive ecosystem that has a positive impact on the local environment.

When he's not busy in the garden, Yosi can be found expanding Vision Healing Arts Centre's infrastructure, making compost and bio-char, and experimenting with mushroom cultivation.
